Contract Information: This contract will enable institutions across Virginia to license Blackboard software and services. Software and services included within this agreement include: Learning System – Basic Edition Learning System, Portal System, Content System Blackboard Academic Suite ASP Services Professional Services and Consulting Educational Services The Blackboard Academic Suite is a comprehensive family of integrated applications that provides a unified enterprise environment for teaching, learning, research, knowledge-sharing, communication and student life. The Academic Suite includes: The Blackboard Learning System – an industry-leading software application used to power virtual learning environments, supplement classroom education and as a platform for distance learning programs. The Blackboard Content System – an advanced knowledge-sharing application that uses and Internet file management engine to extend the reach of e-Learning beyond individual classes. Faculty, staff and students can use features such as Virtual Hard Drive and e-Portfolios to manage, exchange and reuse their work. Additionally, the Content System provides features based on the most advanced technology for managing and repurposing educational content, as well as integrating digital library content into courses. The Blackboard Portal System – a powerful mix of middleware and community-building tools that brings consistency and a common environment to the many disparate on and off campus web-based services. Allows the institutions to serve groups, committees, departments, individuals and any other entity with a relationship to the school.
