The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract or contracts through competitive negotiations for a Network Intrusion Prevention/Detection System (NIPDS) for the campus network of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. This NIPDS is being sought to provide a method of passively detecting, categorizing and preventing network attacks directed against systems in the Virginia Tech network.
